The present white clapboard church was erected in 1867 replacing a previous wood structure that was burned in the town fire of May 1867. It sits on a hill overlooking town and is reached by a long flight of wood stairs. The simple structure has a steep gable roof and a narrow chapel with stained-glass windowpanes. The architectural details and interior have been preserved to reflect the original design. The church is listed within the Historic District of Idaho City in the National Register of Historic Places.
