The Idaho City Historical Foundation was established in 1958, to preserve and interpret the history of the Boise Basin.  The ICHF has preserved and maintained several historic buildings including the Boise Basin Museum, the Pon Yam House Chinese Museum, Territorial Prison, the Strauss House, Judge Halley House, Galbraith House, and the Blacksmith House.  They also continue to maintain the John Brogan Park, Smoke Jumpers’ Park, and the Pioneer Cemetery.
