The house was either moved onto the current property or built on site in 1908. The house has changed owner many times over the years and is now owned and managed by the Gem County Historical Society. The society was given the contents of the Estate of Governor Frank H and Ruth Hunt. Governor Hunt was Governor of Idaho from 1901 – 1902. Following his short term in office, the family moved to Emmett. The Hunt House is now a Museum exhibit of Governor Hunt and his family’s possessions.
