In 1895 the Alexanders bought three lots at the northwest corner of Third and State Street. Two local carpenters were hired to build a house on the corner lot from a pictures and floor plans Mr. and Mrs. Moses Alexander had seen in a newspaper. Moses Alexander served as both Mayor of Boise and as Governor of Idaho. The four-bedroom, two-story frame house was completed in 1987. Like many houses of the late Victorian era, it is complex in form, with corner turret, porches on both floors, a bay window and varied texture made up of shingles, clapboards and carved details. It is in the National Register of Historic Places.
