Auger Falls is located in the Snake River Canyon.  The cultural heritage of the site is extensive, reflecting up to 12,000 years of use by prehistoric and historic residents ranging from Native Americans to 19th century miners.  Salmon, trout, sturgeon, small game animals, deer, edible plants and mild climate lured residents to the site.
