The Priest River Junior High School, originally constructed as the Priest River High School in 1940, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The school is significant to public education in Idaho and as an example of a public building designed and constructed under the Work Projects Administration.  The school is an example of simple Art Moderne architecture typical of many WPA projects, with cast-in-place concrete walls and horizontal bands of multi-light, tall metal frame windows.
