Magee Ranger Station’s history began in September 1905 when Charles Magee homesteaded 160 acres at the Trail Creek – Tepee Creek confluence. In 1908 a 115-acre parcel near the confluence was reserved for a Forest Service administration site that was active from 1908-1973. The Ranger Station is listed as a historical district in the National Register of Historic Places and is significant as the site of an early twentieth-century Forest Service station. The Civilian Conservation Corps between 1922-1935 constructed the barn.
