The Weippe Discovery Center focuses on telling the story of the Lewis and Clark Expedition’s meeting with the Nez Perce Indians on the Weippe Prairie, considered one of the most important in the corps of Discovery saga. A series of painted murals depicting expedition events across the Bitterroot Mountains, along with a map showing the now famous trail and campsites are displayed around the center.
