The Lapwai Auditorium was built in 1959 and is an iconic mid-century building that has played a role in the community since its construction. Originally it housed the Lapwai School music and drama programs and eventually was used for all school events. Whether it was the elementary school holiday concert or high school graduation, generations have fond memories of personal and community milestones in the Lapwai Auditorium. Over time the Lapwai Auditorium has evolved from serving the needs of the school to serving the needs of the community. Today the auditorium is used for as a place for cultural community events.
