The first pastor of the Kooskia Church was Reverend Alexander Litherland. He was also the pastor of Stites Presbyterian and the Mt. Zion Presbyterians of Winona. He lived in Stites between the three churches and rode a horse to and from services. One Sunday, while walking from his home in Stites to Kooskia, he suffered a heart attack and died. The memorial window was dedicated to his faithful service.
