The Kendrick Depot is adjacent to Ed Corkill Memorial Trail. Thomas Kirby established a post office in Kendrick in 1889 and a year later, on the basis of a guarantee that Northern Pacific Railroad would extend its track into town; Kirby gave the railroad a deed to half the original town site of 240 acres. Work on the railroad began and the first train reached Kendrick on February 4, 1891.
