The building that houses the Lewiston Civic Theatre was constructed for First Methodist Episcopal Church in 1907. It is one of the largest older buildings in Lewiston and is in the National Register of Historic Places. The structure is a good example of heavy masonry construction and ecclesiastical turn-of-the-century design. The foundation is local basalt and the walls are sandstone.
