We fell on a small creek from the left which passed through open glades some of which were one-half mile wide. We proceeded down this creek about two miles to where the mountains closed on either side, and encamped.

Glade Creek Camp is found in a beautiful high elevation meadow near Lolo Pass, Idaho. Numerous species of sedges, wildflowers, grasses and small shrubs are found in this wetland. Pack Creek meanders through the meadow and the basin walls that form the pack Creek drainage surround it. Two hundred year old sub alpine fir, spruce and lodgepole pine are found along the edge of the meadow and extend to the dryer hillsides that encircle it. In the spring of the year the area is awash with a flood of camas blooms, often appearing like a lake from the distance.
