The City Hall was built in 1939 through the support of the Works Progress Administration and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Frank Hummel of the firm Tourtellotte and Hummel designed the building using twelve-inch thick blocks of native sandstone.  A simple elegant building, the design details of the building reflect the Art Deco style of the 1930’s.
