The Carmen Hall building was built in 1919, boasting a 40x60-foot hardwood dance floor and served primarily as a dance hall. Beginning in 1923, the building served additionally as the Lower Carmen Schoolhouse. Dances and community meetings continued to be held there. In 1941, the Carmen Grange was organized and assumed ownership of the building. Under the new ownership of a local non-profit organization, the hall continues to provide a place for meetings and community activities. |
