The Snake River Stampede stagecoach is a mud wagon that dates back to 1870. It was originally used as a stagecoach on the southern routes from Murphy, Idaho to Chico, California. Later, Ed Matheson who operated several different stage lines in and around Silver City owned the mud wagon. Since that time it has been used in parades and the Idaho Snake River Stampede carrying special performers including the Sons of the Pioneers, Doc and Festus, Barbara Mandrell, and Reba McEntire.
