The building was constructed in 1919 as a hotel/boarding house and is one of the oldest building remaining in Melba.   In 1927, the IOOF Lodge #150 purchased the building.  For the next 80 years the IOOF and Rebekah’s Lodge #105 owned and used the building for meetings and numerous social community events.  In 2013 the Melba Valley Historical Society purchased the building and is currently restoring the facility to be utilized as the valley museum.
